M. Diane Hostetter, 77, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on December 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Born January 1, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Luther E. and Florence E. McKee Ewan.
Diane was a 1962 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She worked for 22 years at the United Telephone Company/Sprint in customer service. She also worked part-time at Alan Hood Publishing. She was a lifelong member of King Street Church, as a member and teacher of the New Life Sunday School class, and she led many women’s Bible studies.
She will be remembered as a loving, devoted wife of Clair, whom she married March 31, 1963. She enjoyed travelling (often to sporting events), reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family, most often around the delicious family dinners she would prepare.
Diane was a fiercely protective and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a constant presence at football, baseball, softball and soccer games, as well as band and music concerts and recitals. She was a prayer warrior, and her children and grandchildren knew they were prayed for daily. There was nothing she would not do for her family.
Surviving are her husband Clair, brother Jim (wife Linda) of Chambersburg, sons Troy (wife Jeannine) of Chambersburg, Todd (wife Wendy) of Michigan, and Trent (wife Michele) of Georgia. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren- Mitch (wife Laura), Reid (wife Sammy), Josh (wife Kara), Caden, Ashlyn (husband Austin), Kyler, Roman, Jacob, and Megan, as well as 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Barb Baker and Ruth Zelonis, an infant brother Donnie, a granddaughter Chanel Beard, and a daughter-in-law Andrea Hostetter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 19, 2022 at King Street Church, 162 E. King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 2:30 PM in Air Hill Brethren In Christ Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, 110 W.
