M. Louise Hawk, age 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Manor Care Nursing Home. Born May 21, 1927, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Cynthia Detrick Yeager.
Mrs. Hawk worked at the former Interwoven in both Chambersburg and Hagerstown, she later was employed by Knouse Foods, where she later retired in 1989. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading the Public Opinion, and puzzles. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her son, Charles E. Hawk (wife Diane) of Chambersburg; two grandsons, Timothy M. (wife Sheila) of Waynesboro, PA and Jeremy P. Hawk, of Chambersburg, PA; two great-grandchildren, Drew and Kaylee; a sister, Blanche M. Stoner of Chambersburg, PA; her companion, Buddy the cat; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey V. Hawk in 2014 and a sister, Alice V. Garner.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11 AM at Lincoln Cemetery; where Rev. Donald C. Nolder will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 3 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
