M. Robert Lesher

April 1, 1923 — January 11, 2012

M. Robert Lesher, 88, formerly of 40 North Coldbrook Avenue, Chambersburg, PA, died Wednesday morning, January 11, 2012 at Penn Hall. Born April 1, 1923 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Milton E. and Della M. Manahan Lesher. Mr. Lesher was a 1941 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and served with the US Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during WWII. Early in his life he was employed at Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown. He was last employed as at former Glasgows Sewing Center and Glasgows RV in Chambersburg. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. His wife, Florence Stine Lesher, whom he married May 4, 1946 preceded him in death on February 19, 1992.

Mr. Lesher is survived by two children, William E. Lesher and wife Cheryl of Roxbury and Barbara M. Moore and husband John of Crab Orchard, TN; two grandchildren, Heather St. Clair and husband Bill of Roanoke, VA and John R. Moore and wife Elizabeth of Panama City, FL; and seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Samara, Isaac, Grace, John, Alex, and Tom.

A graveside service will be held at Norland Cemetery on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:30 PM. Chaplain Brenda Doyle will officiate. Military honors will be provided by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW.
