Margaret I. (Isenberger) Heckman, 96, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 in ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg. Born February 21, 1925 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late David G. and Carrie G. (Musselman) Isenberger.
In her early life she was employed at Stanley Company and Knouse Foods both in Chambersburg. Margaret was then employed by Maria’s Hoagie Shop, Chambersburg where she was known as the “hoagie lady”. She enjoyed animals especially cats and flowers.
Margaret is survived by four children, Rev. John L. Heckman, Jr. and his husband Dr. John Haugh of Greencastle, PA, Margaret Collins and her husband Don of Chambersburg, Shirley Heckman and her son Brad of Chambersburg, and Jeff Pearson and wife of Chambersburg; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a niece Joan Stains of Chambersburg.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Hale; a son, Paul Heckman; four brothers, Leo “Babe”, Raymond, Theodore and Howard Isenberger; and her former husband, John L. Heckman, Sr.
Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA.
However, the family will receive friends Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
