Margaret "Peggy" Kimple

August 2, 1930 — April 23, 2013

Margaret “Peggy” Kimple, affectionately known to many as “Nan”, age 82, of Fayetteville, PA, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, April 23, 2012 at Harrisburg Hospital. Born August 2, 1930 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Sarah Leonard Brown. A 1948 graduate of the Chambersburg High School, she worked as a cook at the former Kimple’s Restaurant for more than twenty years. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Orrtanna, PA and the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Chambersburg. Peggy had a special love for children.

A loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her loving husband, Clyde H. Kimple, whom she married June 30, 1948; nine children, Eddie (Sheila) Kimple of Fayetteville, Barb McCoy (Bill “Scott”) of Chambersburg, Mike Kimple of Fayetteville, Joni (W.M. Carl) Weaverling of Chambersburg, Peggy (Tim) Hege of Chambersburg, Patti (Chris) Bumbaugh of Fayetteville, Theresa Stanionis of Waynesboro, Clydie (Penny) Kimple of Fayetteville, and Jeromy (Amy) Kimple of Fayetteville; eighteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. The last of her immediate family she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Orrtanna, PA. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.
