Margie A. Over, 91, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Born March 27, 1924 in Peru Lack, Juniata County, PA to John and Minnie Piper Wise, she was raised by her grandparents, Bernard and Margaret Miller Wise. Mrs. Over was a 1942 graduate of the Lewistown High School and was employed by the Chambersburg Area School District for 27 years. She was a former member of the Salem United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was currently a member of the Mount Vernon Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Shippensburg. She loved her flowers and enjoyed playing organ music, especially the old hymns. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Baker, on February 15, 1986, and her second husband, Ray L. Over, on September 15, 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Mullowney and husband Richard of Huntsville, AL; two grandsons, Mark Mullowney of Nashville, TN and Matt Mullowney and wife Jen of Downingtown, PA; two great-grandchildren, Shane and Maeve Mullowney; a brother, Raymond Wise of Lewistown, PA; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wise who lovingly cared for Margie for the past two years. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Williams on June 21, 2003; a sister, Violet Hollenbaugh; and three brothers, Cameron, Bernard, and Larry Wise.
There will be a viewing from 9:00-10:00 AM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA followed by a funeral service to honor Mrs. Over’s life at 10:00 AM. Rev. Reuben Coldsmith will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
