Maria Dell

Maria E. Dell, age 76, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 19, 1937 in Del Rio, TX, she was a daughter of the late Pedro and Sara Rosa Roque. Her husband, Earl C. Dell preceded her in death on December 11, 1993.

A 1955 graduate of Del Rio High School, Maria spent most of her life as a homemaker. She also worked as a translator for Keystone Health for several years. Maria’s passion was her role as a grandmother. She loved taking her granddaughter, Rachel, out to eat. She enjoyed watching TV, doing crossword puzzles, and following sports with her family.

She is survived by her son, Thomas “Clay” Dell and wife Lisa of Chambersburg; her granddaughter, Rachel Dell of Chambersburg; and three siblings, Maggie Nordone and husband Dick of Fayetteville, NY, Pete Roque of Canastota, NY, and Rolondo Roque of Syracuse, NY. Aside from her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Jim Dell.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held in Lincoln Cemetery at a later date.
