Marian Bolan

Marian E. Washinger Bolan, 82, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in her home, with her family at her side. Born on February 18, 1930 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late John H. Washinger and Rhoda Cormany Washinger. She was the widow of John C. “J.B.” Bolan, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2003.

She is survived by four children, Christina L. Schneider (husband, Bruce) of Hudson, MA, Karen B. Watson (husband, Kerry), Jody Grabowski (husband, Matthew), all of Chambersburg, and Richard Bolan (wife, Colleen) of Cave Creek, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Shields (husband, Jeffrey), David Kuhn, Lauren Shearer, and Casey Valentine (husband, Joe Crivelli); siblings, Doris Byers, Kenneth Washinger, and Arlene Wilcox; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Aside from her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, J. Richard Washinger.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2012 in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment in Norland Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 2325 Country Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 or to Lutheran Home Care & Hospice Inc. 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
