Marian Fetterhoff

Marian S. Fetterhoff, 89, of Chambersburg, PA, died Friday afternoon, March 2, 2012 in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 25, 1922 in New York, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Zolar Stavana. During WWII, she was employed at the Kane Manufacturing Company making parts for airplanes to support the war effort. After moving to Chambersburg she was employed as a waitress at the former Capital Restaurant in downtown Chambersburg. Mrs. Fetterhoff was last employed at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg where she worked for more than twenty years. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Her first husband, Maurice J. Ott was killed in action during WWII. Her second husband, Ellsworth F. Fetterhoff Sr., whom she married September 26, 1945, preceded her in death on August 11, 1997.

Mrs. Fetterhoff is survived by three children, Janice Buterbaugh of Chambersburg, Ellsworth F. Fetterhoff, Jr. and wife Donna of Sykesville, MD, and Brenda L. Joyner of California; five grandchildren, Steven Buterbaugh and wife Jody, Michael Buterbaugh and wife Ashley, Mark Buterbaugh and wife Wendy, Lori Plummer and husband Rich, and David Fetterhoff and wife Annie; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Alice Cooper, Edith Urbancic, Caroline Cottone, and Rosie Bernat.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James O’Brien at 12:30 PM Tuesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made in honor of her late husband to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
