After living briefly in Middletown, PA, she and her family settled in Chambersburg in 1967. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. Marian worked at the Chambersburg Hospital Laboratory until her retirement in 1987. She was a passionate family historian and also enjoyed the pleasures of gardening, canning and sharing the bounty of the garden. Along with being an avid reader, Marian enjoyed her stitching, which has enriched the family’s walls with her talent and treasure. Most importantly Marian was most devoted to her family and especially her late husband of 62 years, Eugene Howe whom she married May 20, 1950 in Uniontown, PA.

Marian is survived by three children, Ann L. Underkoffler and husband, Scott, of Chambersburg, Rosemary L. Radocha and husband, Jerry, of Whitehall, and Jerry E. Howe and wife, Jeannine, of Chambersburg; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Howe of Chambersburg; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-laws, Doris Snyder and Ada Ruth Yingling (and husband the late N.D. Yingling) of Clearfield, a brother-in-law, Thomas Black of Saxton and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aside from her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jay R.
