Marie Alleman

Marie Kathleen Alleman, age 58, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly in the Chambersburg Hospital Emergency Room on Monday, May 27, 2013. Born February 25, 1955 in Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Kenneth and Mary Edna McClelland Oliver.
A 1973 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Marie went on to earn her Bachelor’s in 1977 from Shippensburg University in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Library Science in 1980. Marie served as school Librarian at Corpus Christi from 1979 until 1983 and part time during the summer at the Park Office at Caledonia State Park from 1979 until 1988. She began working for the state of Pennsylvania in 1988 and the Department of Conservation of Natural Resources as an administrative assistant at the Michaux State forest since 2002. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, participating in church functions, helping with communion preparation, and serving as an Usher at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she had been a lifetime member.
Surviving is her husband of 31 years, Dennis Alleman, whom she married on June 20, 1981; two children, Jeaneen M. Alleman of King George, VA and John R. Alleman of Chambersburg, PA; four siblings, Roberta Trombulak (husband John) of Camp Hill, PA, Nancy Outland of Indianapolis, IN, Robert Keith Oliver (wife Lisa) of Lakeland, FL, and Garland Oliver (wife Trudy) of Chambersburg, PA; 9 nieces and nephews, and 13 great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10 AM in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 26 West Commerce St., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Tara Magoon and Rev. Dr. Neal O. Hively will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 7-9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and on Friday one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the church address above.
