Marie Miller

Marie Yvonne Miller, age 72, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 28, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Born August 18, 1942, in East Orange, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Elissa Brusseau Purcell.

Marie was a 1960 graduate of East Orange High School in New Jersey. She worked as an office manager for Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ until her retirement in 1999 after 20 years of service. Marie loved going to auctions and antiquing. She was well known as #6 at Hurley Auctions. She also enjoyed sewing, needlework, gardening, couponing, traditional country music, and chocolate.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard C. Miller, Sr., whom she married on December 26, 1961; four children, Deborah Jones and husband Robert of Bethlehem, PA, Elissa Miller of Levittown, PA, Richard C. Miller, Jr. and wife Leticia of Greenville, OH, and Daniel A. Miller, Sr. and wife Joyce of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis and husband Clint of Wilder, KY, Victoria Miller of Greenville, OH, Elisa Marie Miller and Daniel A Miller, Jr., both of Virginia Beach, VA; and three sisters, Elizabeth Lake of Greenwood, SC, Edwina DiPietro of Vero Beach, FL, and Kate Purcell of Clinton, NJ. In addition to her parents, Marie preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Purcell.

A funeral service to honor Marie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2014 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Paul Theisz will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
