Marien M. Guyer, 81, a resident of the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Fayetteville, PA, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, March 9, 2016 at the nursing home. Born December 13, 1934 in East Waterford, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Frances Smith Miller. Marien was employed at the former Stanley Company early in her life and later babysat for many years in her Chambersburg home. During their retirement, she and her husband Paul worked together at Bath Savers in the Chambersburg Mall. She had a great affection for animals and enjoyed canning, camping, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of The Open Door Church, the auxiliary of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Cedarettes. Her husband, Paul Guyer, whom she married in September 26, 1953, preceded her in death on December 3, 2014.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Kardel of Chambersburg; two brothers-in-laws, John Guyer of Gettysburg and Marvin Guyer of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her great-great niece and nephew, Champ and Hailey Myers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Gaylord Rodney Guyer on April 22, 2011, and an infant son, Michael.
Services, under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, will be private. Interment will be in the Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Spring Run, PA.
