Marilyn Jane Miller

Marilyn Jane Miller, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Brookview Healthcare Center. Born June 18, 1938, in Allentown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Carl J. and Charlotte Boyer Swartz. Her beloved husband, Charles Eugene Miller, whom she married on January 8, 2005, preceded her in death on August 16, 2018.

Marilyn was a 1959 graduate of Wilson College earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a Minor in Music. She was employed with the Social Security Administration her entire career in Baltimore and Allentown until her retirement. Marilyn was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg where she participated in the Bell Choir. Having a deep appreciation for the arts, Marilyn played multiple instruments including the harp and clarinet. She also enjoyed painting and had an interest in gemology and jewelry. Marilyn also devoted much of her time to volunteering at Menno Haven.

She is survived by two sisters, Damaris Weidner of Silver Spring, MD, and Carol Locke of Waynesboro; one niece, Cyndi Croker (Robert) of Rockville, MD; one nephew, Glenn Weidner (Heather) of Brevard, NC; two great nieces, Malia and Leila Croker; two step-daughters, Diana Kennedy (Marc) of Lusby, MD, and Cindy Pierce (Doug) of Elizabethton, TN; and four step-grandchildren, Devin Kennedy, Ashleigh Pierce, Jessica Pierce (Syndey), and Steffanie Pierce (Josh).

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Barbara Berry will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:30 prior to the service. Graveside services will be held following the service at 2:00 PM in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s name to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund at mennohaven.org/give/, or to the Wilson College Wilson Fund at wilson.edu/makeagift.
