Marilyn Louise (Martin) Spielman went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, February 17, 2025. She had been in failing health since suffering stroke in the spring of 2023. Marilyn was born on August 5, 1946, in Chambersburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Catherine (Apple) Martin.
Marilyn was a 1964 graduate of CASHS, she worked for Stanley Co., during her early working career and Citizen’s National Bank, now Truist Bank for over 20 years, as a teller and loan officer. She was a lifelong member of King Street Church and the Buds of Promise Sunday School class, where she served as treasurer and chorister. Marilyn was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved going on vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC and Florida. She and her husband of almost 52 years, Larry Spielman, loved to travel together. Their favorite place to visit being Maine during the lobster festival. She also loved watching game shows and sports, doing crossword puzzles, going shopping with her daughter and getting together with her brother, sister and their spouses to play games.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Craig and girlfriend, Corrie Tiffany of Chambersburg and daughter, Christy, husband Darren; and granddaughter, Shaden of MD; a sister, Phyllis Henry of Chambersburg; sister-in-law, Donna Martin of Chambersburg; and many loved nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, Larry she was proceeded in death by her sister, Norma and her husband, Guy Cline; brother, William Martin; and brother-in-law, Cyril (Doc) Henry.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Grindstone Hill Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Chambersburg Hospital, Heartland Hospice and Chambers Pointe for the care they have given to Marilyn over the last two years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in her name to the Samaritan’s Fund at King Street Church, 56 North Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
