Marion Martin

Marion E. Martin of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Providence Place in Chambersburg. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Julia Traeger O’Donnell.

A homemaker most of her adult life, Marion volunteered at the Chambersburg Hospital for a number of years. She was a life member of the VFW Post 1599 Ladies Auxiliary, AARP Chapter 2287, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and the Resurrection Choir.

Marion had a great love for her family and will be lovingly remember by those who survive including her son, Russell J. Martin (wife Dorothy) of Montrose, PA; daughter-in-law, Joann Delman Martin; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Martin, Jr., a son, Thomas F. Martin, III, and a sister, Jean Kirchner.

The family would like to thank those who visited Marion while she was at Providence Place. We would also like to thank the staff at Providence Place for the care they provided to her while she lived there, as well as to Celtic Hospice and Palliative Care for keeping her comfortable during her final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Chambersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to Cystic Fibrosis foundations.
