Marjorie M. Christie, age 74, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 14, 1938 in Elkhart, IN, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Anna Kalman Slack.
A registered nurse, Mrs. Christie worked for a number of years in the former Leader nursing home and then on to Penn Hall for the last 10 years of her career, where she retired in 2010. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1960. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and collecting Barbie dolls.
Surviving are four sons, Thomas U. of Chambersburg, Eric E. of Waynesboro, Timothy J. of Shermansdale, and Charles M. (wife Nadine) Christie of Chambersburg; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two siblings, Ray Slack and Donna Baisley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Christie in 2002 and a sister, Barbara Ann MacIntyre.
Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
