Mark Hollinshead

Mark H. Hollinshead, 47, of Ortanna, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 27, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 15, 1966 in Ashtabula, OH, he was the son of Marlin H. Hollinshead, and the late Sara Anne Gibson Hollinshead, and step-son of Linda Hollinshead. Mark was a 1985 graduate of McConnellsburg High School and a 1987 graduate of the Antonelli Institute of Art. He worked as an engine tester for Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD. A First Responder in the state of Maryland, Mark had the privilege of saving several lives. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, Art, raising his two dogs, carpentry, masonry, and riding his motorcycle. Mark built both of his houses. He was involved in the 4-H Seeing Eye dogs club, and a member of Local 171 UAW. Above all, Mark loved spending time with his children.

He is survived by his children, Mitias Hollinshead and Fiancé Cortney Soult and Kristianna Hollinshead, all of Chambersburg; 3 sisters, Francine L. Shaw, of McConnellsburg, PA, Kimberly Mull, of Chambersburg, and Christine J. Hock of Shippensburg, PA; 3 step-brothers, Michael Newell of Harrisonville, PA, Keith Newell of Hagerstown, MD, and James Gibson III (Peachy) of Shippensburg; and Best Friend, Michelle Hollinshead of Chambersburg, PA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Anne Gibson Hollinshead.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Loy Garber officiating. Interment will be private. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Ave., suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
