Mark A. Jansen, 89, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, March 21, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 29, 1927 in Little Chute, Wisconsin. He was a son of the late Peter M. and Margaret (Biese) Jansen. Mark served honorably with the US Navy during WWII and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He retired as a supervisor from the former James River Company in 1986. He was a very active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus Council 1426; Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; Tarquino-Washabaugh Catholic War Veterans Post 1930; and Oscar M. Hykes Post 223. Mark was an avid fisherman, a prolific gardener, and a lifetime Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Sally” Lambie Jansen, two daughters and four sons, Toni M. Jansen, Norristown, PA, Mark L. Jansen (Linda), Fayetteville, PA, Guy M. Jansen, Chambersburg, PA, Peter M. Jansen (Edith), Richmond, IN, Arnold P. Jansen (Laura), Ft. Loudon, PA, and Mary I. Wilson (Anthony), Fayetteville, PA; grandchildren Matthew M. Jansen (Michelle), Melissa A. Jansen, Nicholas A. Jansen, Guy A. Jansen, Patrick D.G. Jansen (Tamyra), Scott E. Jansen, Jessica R. Stenger (Tim), Elizabeth S. Wilson, John M. Jansen (Jennifer), Andrew G. Wilson, Jared M. Wilson, Eric A. Jansen, Sarah V. Jansen, Shayna Jansen-Byers (Philip), and Jessica A. Carr (Jake); plus 14 beautiful great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Marvin Jansen, Kaukauna, WI, sister-in-law Lois Simons, Combined Locks, WI, and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget M. Jansen, daughter-in-law Sheree Byers Jansen, brother Edward (Martha) Jansen, brother Roy (Jane) Jansen, sister Evelyn (Bud) Huss, sister Genevieve (Henry) Janssen, sister Arlene (Elmer) Welhouse, brother James Jansen, sister-in-law Ione Jansen, brothers-in-law Leland (Nona) Lambie, Neil (Celesta) Lambie, Andrew (Elaine) Lambie, and Gib Simons.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Paul Theisz and assisted by Deacon Richard Ramsey at 11:00 AM Friday, March 24, 2017 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. There will be no viewing. Interment will be private.
