Marlin O. Wagner, 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday evening, March 19, 2022 at his home. Born January 23, 1935 in Greenvillage, he was the son of the late Oscar H. and Bessie M. Keefer Wagner. His wife, Joanne R. Peterson Wagner, whom he married May 21, 1955, preceded him in death on November 19, 2020.
Marlin was a 1952 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. After graduation, Marlin enlisted in the US Navy and honorably served his country from 1954-1958. He was then employed at the former Chambersburg Engineering Company and at the American Can Company. He was later employed as a Union Representative with AFSCME until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife.
He is survived by three children, Brett (Dawn) Wagner, Stacie Smith, and Vicki Wagner; five grandchildren, Angela (Joshua) Whitmoyer, Ryan (Jami) Wagner, Brittany (Jeff) Hoke, Jennifer Smith, and Kristi (Steven) Crawford; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Amara Hoke; and his sister, Dorothy Pilkerton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Harold Yeager will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens where graveside military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
