Marlin D. Zook, age 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 15, 1949 in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late David M. and Edna Weaver Zook, and the step-son of the late Emma Zook. A 1967 graduate of the North Lima High School, Mr. Zook went on to attend Hesston College in Hesston, KS. A licensed insurance agent, he owned and operated the Marlin Zook Agency in Dalton, OH, retiring in 2013. He was a member of the Brookview Chapel at Menno Haven and was a lifelong supporter of Pregnancy Care Ministries in Wooster, OH and in Chambersburg, PA. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school; was an avid gardener; and had a lifelong love of ping pong, airplanes, trains, and flying. He was a licensed pilot in his younger years.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Rose Police Zook, whom he married on May 14, 1972; two sons, Daniel Zook and wife Jacinda of Dalton, OH and Jeremiah Zook and wife Melanie of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Verda Rose, Patrick, Jeren, Vincent, and Selena; and three siblings, Rhoda McClain and husband Dale of Columbiana, OH, Mary Louise Uchida and husband Mel of Laupahoehoe, HI, and Herb Zook and wife Marlene of Belleville, PA.
Services and interment will be private.
