Martha "Ann" Dile

Martha “Ann” Dile, 84, formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2013 at The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA. Born March 28, 1929 in Scotland, PA, she was a daughter of the late George “Clyde” and Bessie E. Stine Myers. A 1947 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Mrs. Dile worked for more than forty years with Realty 1 as a Realtor in the Chambersburg area. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Scotland and American Legion Post 223 in Shippensburg. Mrs. Dile was a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, especially Pinochle and Bridge. Her husband, David O. Dile, preceded her in death in 1956.

She is survived by three children, Victoria E. McKee and husband Rush of Fayetteville, Keith A. Dile of Shippensburg, and David L. Dile of Chambersburg; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Stella Wadel of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven O. Dile, who died in Vietnam on January 28, 1970; four brothers, Leroy Myers, Elder Myers, Walter Myers, and Donald Myers; a sister, Gail Myers; and a granddaughter, Melissa Dile.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 2695 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Christopher Frye officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and one hour prior to the service at the church.
