Martha “Sue” Logsdon, age 60, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 4, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Richard Leroy and Lillian Hulon Helm. Her beloved husband of 33 years, William R. “Bill” Logsdon III, preceded her in death on August 7, 2014.
A 1973 graduate of CASHS, Sue then served in the U.S. Army Reserves. She later worked at Landis Tool Company in Waynesboro then Waynesboro Design Services as a Network Manager for 17 years until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of Chambersburg Baptist Church and the Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League Ladies Auxiliary where she served as Judge Advocate. She loved spending time with her family and friends dancing and relaxing with a glass of wine. She also loved camping, the outdoors, and refinishing furniture in her spare time. Sue was a very selfless person and always thought of others, especially her husband Bill, first.
Sue is survived by five children, Angela Graves of Chambersburg, William R. Logsdon, IV and wife Jackie of Chambersburg, Tara Hatfield of Chambersburg, Frank Logsdon and wife Jenny of Severna Park, MD, and Michael Logsdon and wife Samantha of Mercersburg; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Denise “Penny” Pittman of Madison AL, and Richard Leroy Helm, Jr and wife Wendy of Shippensburg. In addition to her husband and parents, Sue is preceded in death by a sister, Mary “Bunny” Mathis.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
