Rev. Dr. Martin Dayle Dickey, age 68, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to be with the Lord at his home on Thursday, February 6, 2014. Born December 1, 1945 in Meadville, PA, he was the son of the late Martin Clement and Frances Hunter Dickey.
Dr. Dickey served many churches in his ministry including churches in Carnegie, PA, Wilkinsburg, PA, Curwensville, PA, Oil City, PA, Dansville, NY, and New Orleans, LA. He attended World Harvest Outreach Church in Chambersburg, PA.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 44 years, Barbara Alice Rasler Dickey, whom he married on June 14, 1969; three loving children, Martin Andrew Dickey of Indianapolis, IN, Elizabeth Heisey (husband Neil) of Mount Joy, PA, Peter Dickey (wife Nicole) of South Bend, IN; three cherished grandchildren, Logan Heisey, Lucas Dickey, and Abigail Heisey; a brother, Daniel Dickey (wife Loretta); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Dickey and sister-in-law, Barbara Charlotte Dickey.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10 AM at the World Harvest Outreach Church, 1090 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Mark Durniak will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 7 – 9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the World harvest Outreach Church at the address above.
