Mary Armstrong

Mary E. Armstrong, age 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 in the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born August 26, 1929 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Leslie and Edith Fisher Reese.
A homemaker most of her adult life, she enjoyed spending time with her family, completing word puzzles, playing bingo, and attending social hours at the nursing home.
Surviving is her children, Delores Taylor (husband Jack) of Ft. Loudon, PA, Roger Armstrong (wife Sue) of Greencastle, PA, Fay Campbell of Fayetteville, PA, Vicky Michael of Fayetteville, PA, Pamela Chicoa of Hagerstown, MD, Debbie Armstrong of Hagerstown, MD, and Cheryl Sollenberger (Dwight) of Chambersburg, PA; 27 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Webster Armstrong, on January 27, 1978; a son, Delmas Reese, and four siblings, Junior Reese, Charles Reese, David Reese, and Helen Kesselring.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pasto Mark Ruzicka Will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 7-9 PM in the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will follow in Macedonia Church Cemetery, Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Salvation Army, 169 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
