Mary Crist

Mary E. Crist, age 91, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on October 28, 2013 at Magnolia’s Senior Living. Born March 7, 1922 in Newville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen R. Spidel Eichelberger.
A homemaker most of her adult life, Mrs. Crist enjoyed volunteering at the Chambersburg Hospital, where she was a volunteer for over 35 years and volunteering with the Bloodmobile. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a former member of the VFW Post 1599 Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, especially to Myrtle Beach, SC, and going to their summer cabin on the Potomac.
Surviving is a daughter, Nancy Horst (husband William) of Chambersburg, PA, two granddaughters, Holly J. Johnston (husband Matthew) of Chambersburg, PA and Billie Jo Torrey (husband John) of Chambersburg, PA, and three great – grandsons, Ezra, Caleb, and Abel.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church Cemetery, Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Fr. James R. O’Brien will celebrate. The family will receive friends at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Magnolia’s Activities Department, 745 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
