Mary Gansz, 88, a resident of Woodland Retirement Home in Orbisonia, and formerly of Path Valley, died on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntington, PA. Born on February 4, 1927 in Wolcott, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Blanche Sherman Larkin. Her beloved husband Raymond Gansz preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Larry Gansz of Norfolk, VA; a daughter, Carol Daniel and fiancé Jeff Yeager of Holidaysburg, PA; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Rev. Daniel Larkin and wife Nancy of Tidioute, PA, John Larkin of Cortland, NY, and Charles Larkin of Hilton, NY; and a sister, Ida Winkler of Zepherhills, FL. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 8 brothers, Lyle Hulbert, Leroy Hulbert, George Hulbert, Raymond Larkin, Glen Larkin, Paul Larkin, Rev. David Larkin and Ivan Larkin; and 5 sisters, Ruth Evans, Isabelle Crisler, Eunice Cooper, Golda June Larkin, and Sadie VanHorn.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 17, 2015 at 1:00PM at Shady Pine Mennonite Church, 14620 Shady Pine Road, Willow Hill, PA. Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM on Monday at the church. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Crusoe Cemetery, Savannah, NY. Rev.
