Mary “Louise” Hammond, 85, formerly of Fannettsburg, passed away with her daughters by her side on Friday, April 21, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Chambersburg. Born April 27, 1931 in Nossville, PA she was a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Berrier Smith. He husband of 58 years, Albert Hammond, preceded her in death in 2010. Louise was employed as a seamstress at the Stanley Co. in Chambersburg for 15 years. She was later employed as a car inspector at Jones Garage in Ft. Loudon. She enjoyed sewing and hunting.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Kissinger and husband David of Fannettsburg, and Carol “Sue” Holden and husband Richard of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Craig Kissinger and fiancé Stephanie Brozek of Chambersburg, and Jessica Irvin and husband Justin of Chambersburg; three siblings, Dorothy Garner (Ken Yahner) of Fannettsburg, Dolly Johnson and husband Wilbert of Spring Run, and Blaine Smith and wife Judy of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Russell Smith and an infant sister, Pauline.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St. Dry Run, PA 17220. Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
