Mary Long

Mary Jane Long, 73, of Fannettsburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017. Born May 10, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Myrl E. and Thelma O. Snyder Johnson.

Mary was a homemaker most of her life. She loved bingo, canning, cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family. Mary was a member of the Shippensburg American Legion Post 223 Auxiliary. She was a loving wife and the best mother ever.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Long, whom she married on June 21, 1958; four children, Rex Long of Fannettsburg, Jim Long (Nanny) of Fannettsburg, Cindy Dougherty of Chambersburg and Dee Ann Rhoades (AD) of Doylesburg; eight grandchildren, Robert Jarrell, Jr., Zachary Long, Nicholas McCalmont (Linda), Brandon Long, Alyssa Eaton (Jared), Berylee Kreigline (Eddie), Evan Long and Jessica Long (Tyler Smith); five great-grandchildren, Graysen and Emersyn Smith, Alexis Long, Nolan Eaton, and Haven McCalmont; eight siblings, Bill Johnson (Rose), Homer Johnson (Bonnie), Kay Criswell (late Dick), Wayne Johnson, (Bonnie), Faye George (late Ronald), Alma Burdge (Edsel), Diane Masters (Tom), and Avis Black (Wade); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by four siblings, Luther, Irving and David Johnson and Lucy Swanger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA 17220. Rev. Dr. Meagan Boozer will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Reformed Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
