Mary Melkonich

Mary Melkonich, 86, a resident of The Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, PA and formerly of St. Clair, PA, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at the nursing home. Born February 8, 1930 in St. Clair, she was a daughter of the late Wassil and Pearl Ponczar Draovitch. Her husband, Frank Melkonich, preceded her in death in April of 1977.
She is survived by her son, Frank Melkonich, Jr. of St. Clair; three sisters, Nancy Messina of Chambersburg, PA, Ann Shaskan of Gettysburg, PA, and Ethel Daderko of Summit Hill, PA; and her brother, Wassil Draovitch of Pottsville, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Melkonich; a grandson, Brad Melkonich; and five brothers, John, Steve, Michael, Russel, and Leo Draovitch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 47 Nicholas Street, St. Clair, PA with The Very Rev. Michael Hatrak celebrating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
