Mary Miller

December 22, 1944 — January 15, 2017

Mary Jane Miller, 72, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center. Born December 22, 1944 in Cleversburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Fred Lauver, Sr. and the late Betty Lehman Black. She was a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and was a homemaker most of her life. She and her companion, George, operated a produce stand near Caledonia for many years. She enjoyed flea markets, crafts, cooking, baking, and animals.

She is survived by her companion of thirty-five years, George E. Calliste; five sons, Roy H. Miller, Jr. and wife Sonia of Chambersburg, Robert M. Miller, Sr. of Chambersburg, Ronald L. Miller and wife Monica of Chambersburg, Randy A. Miller and wife Tina of Chambersburg, and Roger W. Miller and wife Jeane of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Sonny Carr and wife Joyce of Fayetteville and Harold Carr and wife Sandy of Tucson, AZ; three sisters, Margaret Black and husband Richard of McConnellsburg, Susan Hill and husband Stanley of Baltimore, MD, and Roberta Stange of Baltimore; as well as her sister-in-law, Andrea Lauver (widow of her late brother Fred Lauver, Jr.) of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and brother, Fred Lauver, Jr., she was preceded in death by a second brother, Shannon Young.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
