Mary O'Neil

Mary Grace O’Neil, age 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on January 10, 2013 in her home. Born October 3, 1925 in Oswego, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rosario and Carmella Rapisardo Morabito.
A homemaker most of her adult life, she enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family. An avid reader, Mrs. O’Neil would regularly complete three to four novels a week. She also enjoyed going to dinner theaters, crocheting, needle point, and playing the slots.
Surviving is her beloved husband of 66 years, Donald Eugene O’Neil, whom she married on October 5, 1946; her daughters, M. Donna Brechbill (husband Delbert) of New Franklin, PA, Laurie Ann Short (husband Gerald) of Chambersburg, PA, and Jean Louise Manns (husband Glenn) of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren, Trisha Goshorn (husband Jonathan); Elizabeth Felix (husband Todd); Jennifer Wenger (husband Christian); Kristin McLellan (husband Daniel); Matthew Manns (wife Cara); and Kendra Mann (Nevin Doyle); 14 great grandchildren; a loving and cherished niece, Cecilia Swinson (husband Albert) and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarah Leota, Helen Giambo, and Lena Da Gata and six brothers, Santo, Rosario, Sabastian “Benny”, Sam, Joseph, and Charles Morabito.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Fr. James R. O’Brien will celebrate. The family will receive friends at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA from 10:00 AM until 12 noon prior to the service on Monday, January 14, 2013. Interment will follow the Mass in Corpus Christi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
