Mary Perry

Mary A. Perry, 71, formerly of Fayetteville, PA, died Monday evening, May 20, 2013 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she resided for the past five months. Born August 31, 1941 in Waynesboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Vera G. Hawbaker Orris. A graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, she operated Sollenberger’s Messenger Service. She attended St. John’s United Church of Christ and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees #1063, the Chambersburg Mall Walkers, AARP, the Red Hat Society, and Women of the Moose Chapter 1128. Mary was an Elvis Presley fan and she loved flowers and trees. Her husband, Earnest E. Perry, preceded her in death on December 17, 1996.

She is survived by two children, Dwight A. Sollenberger and wife Cheryl and Michelle L. Powers and husband Charles, all of Fayetteville; two step-children, Drew Perry of Fayetteville and Dennis Perry of Marion; nine grandchildren; eight great-granchildren; two brothers, Robert E. Orris and Ronald E. Orris; and a sister, Shirley J. Auman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Monte Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 24, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Adam Leeper officiating. Interment will follow at Air Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
