Mary Alice Poe, 91, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday morning, September 18, 2021 at Chambers Pointe. Born April 22, 1930 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Luther J. and Mary R. Miller Stinson. A homemaker, she had worked early in her life at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She was a member of Antrim Brethren In Christ Church. Mrs. Poe loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, R. Charles Poe, whom she married April 25, 1952, preceded her in death on January 6, 2016.

She is survived by three children, Marie Potteiger of Chambersburg, Jeffrey Poe (Marcia) of Shippensburg, and Sharon Gross (Ken) of Tuscon, AZ; four grandchildren, Chad Potteiger (Debbie) of Tennessee, Derek Poe (partner Elizabeth Behler) of Lancaster, PA, Katie Clever (Tim) of Greencastle, and Rick Gross of Arizona; and five great-grandchildren, Davis, Ethan,and Lauren Potteiger, Ryker and Lily Grace Clever. She is also survived by two sisters, Katherine M. Defenderfer and Bonnie Miller, both of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Eldon, Edward, Robert, and L. Dale Stinson; and two sisters, Jean Myers and Arlene Hawbaker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Casey Hurst will officiate. Interment will follow at Air Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
