Mary Louise Stevens, 85, of Fayetteville, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2012 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 4, 1927 in Clear Ridge, PA, she was a daughter of the late Gladstone T. and Olive M. Stains Cromwell. Mary enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother, but most recently becoming a great-grandmother. She had a caring heart and enjoyed going out to eat with the girls and giving her great-nieces and nephews ice cream money.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John C. Stevens, whom she married June 19, 1945; her daughter, Karen (wife of the late Jeffrey) Ulrich; granddaughter April (wife of Randy) Fickes; grandson Cody Ulrich; great-grandson Corbin Jeffrey Fickes, all of Fayetteville; and her step-granddaughters Nicole and Cierra Fickes, both of Chambersburg. She is also survived by her sister, Delores Cromwell of Medina, OH; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and son-in-law, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles A. Stevens; her twin sister, Lena Parks; and four brothers, Lewis “Dean” Cromwell, Albert “Mike” Cromwell, Walter Cromwell, and Charles Ramsey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Kenneth Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday and from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
