Mary Frances Willett, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at Chambers Pointe Health Care Center, Chambersburg. Born January 27, 1938 in Clarksburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late August L. and Irene P. (Moyle) Terneus.
A graduate of St. Mary’s High School, in Clarksburg, Mary continued her education at Duquesne University. From 1955 to 1962, Mary was called to be a Catholic Nun. During her time as a nun, she taught the elementary school aged children of the church. Later in life, she worked for the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Louis R. Willett, whom she married on December 28, 1966; daughter, Rebecca M. Willett of Casa Grande, AZ; sons, Christopher L. Willett (wife Diann), of Martinsburg, WV and Kevin D. Willett (wife Christine), of Lemoyne, PA; six grandsons, one step-grandson, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, A. Daniel Terneus and her sister, Patricia A. Harris (husband Harold).
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22nd, 2024 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, with Fr. Benjamin Kwaghgba as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, November 21, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, as well as one hour prior to the service in the narthex of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
