Maurice Zimmerman

Maurice Eugene “Buster” Zimmerman of Cascade MD passed away on Saturday, September 23rd in his home at Quincy Village, at the age of 85.
Born on December 9, 1931 in Waynesboro PA; he was married to Ada Catherine (Flook), who preceded him in death in 2006.
Buster had a twenty-year career as an Engineering Technician and Instrument Maker for the National Institute of Health Gerontology Research Center at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore MD, retiring in March of 1994. While there he was Master Maze Maker to the Royal Rat Runners and received commendation from President Jimmy Carter for his contribution to the efficiency of improving government operations.
Earlier, Buster worked for 15 years as a machinist at Crown Cork & Seal.
Buster was an active member of the Maryland Metropolitan Club, Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Association, and a former member of the Maryland Wine Society.
He is survived by his children Phyllis Cherry, and Donald Flook, and their families. He was preceded in death by his son Gene Flook.
A remembrance gathering will be held for friends and family on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Keystone Family Restaurant, 10530 Buchanan Trail, Waynesboro PA. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
