Maxine McNew

Maxine McNew, age 79, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 14, 2014 at her home. Born, April 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late George “Jack” and Marcella McNew Rock.

Maxine worked as a beautician out of her home from 1960 until 1970, then worked at Pet Ritz in Chambersburg until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed NASCAR, traveling, and taking care of her family. Maxine was a member of Fayetteville Church of God. She loved the Lord and served and helped whoever she could.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harvey R. McNew, whom she married on June 27, 1953; her son, Stacy R. McNew of Middletown, PA; her daughter, Michelle Renshaw and husband Doug of Fayetteville, PA; two grandchildren, Joseph R. McNew of Mt. Gretna, PA, and Karissa Renshaw of McConnellsburg, PA; and four great0-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 19, 2014 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Staci Geesaman and Rev. George Mower will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
