Maxine K. Rife, 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, December 29, 2015 at her home. Born August 4, 1931 in Marion, PA, she was a daughter of the late George B. and Mary Alice Snyder Seilhamer. Maxine was a graduate of the Greencastle High School. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. Her husband, Robert G. Rife, preceded her in death on September 15, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly D. McMullen and husband Craig of Blairs Mills; two sons, Gregory R. Rife of Chambersburg and Bryan K. Rife and wife Tamela of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Lori J. Monn of Chambersburg, Colby T. Rife of Loysville, and Matthew G. Rife of Chambersburg; three great-grandchildren, Kylee D. Monn, Kelsey R. Monn, and Cameron B. Rife, all of Chambersburg; a great-great-grandson, Mayson G. Fogelsonger of Chambersburg; and her sister, Myrtle Seilhamer of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert Seilhamer; and a sister, Lou McLucas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Peter Emig will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
