Melody Ann Flood, age 53, of Fayetteville, PA; passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia, PA after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chambersburg on May 18, 1958; she was the daughter of the late Glenn Flood and JoAnn and Donald Jamison.

A 1976 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Melody went on to work at the South Mountain Restoration Center and then to the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, Environmental Division for the last 33 years. Melody enjoyed spending time with family, bowling, and especially camping at Twin Bridges Campground; where she could be found on weekends every summer. In addition she was a member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 and the Hume-McNeil Byers AMVETS Post 224, both in Chambersburg.

In addition to her mother and step-father, Melody is survived by her sister, Tammy Maclay and her husband Timothy of Shippensburg and two nieces, Lindsey and Lacey Maclay of Shippensburg and two nephews, Logan and Luke Maclay of Shippensburg.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Derek Wadlington will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Wednesday, November 9 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033 or to the charity of one’s choice.
