Merrill Scutchall

Merrill Simon Scutchall, 91, formerly of Greenvillage, PA, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2012 at Menno Haven where he had been a guest for the past two months. Born February 13, 1920 in Hopewell, PA, he was a son of the late Frank Sr., and Della M. Wright Scutchall. Merrill had been employed most of his life as a mechanic and welder.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Freiwald Scutchall; his step-son, Robert Norris and wife Sandy of Colorado; his step-daughter, Mary Miller of New Mexico; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his friends and neighbors, Chester and Dorothy Grove, and Harold Kennedy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Roy Scutchall, and a sister, Lucille Long.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2012 at Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM Friday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.
