Mervin L. Freshman, 57, of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital after a lengthy illness surrounded by family. Merv was born November 6, 1964 to Harry “Ronnie” and Sandy (Pratt) Freshman of Waynesboro.
Merv was a graduate of the 1982 class of WASHS and attended Penn State University Mont Alto. He was owner of Edge of Sanity Entertainment. He worked most of his adult life in music retail sales and was also retired from First Data as a system analyst. Second only to his love of his family, was his love of music. He was a musician as well as an avid music listener. His favorite pastime was attending concerts and being with his music family.
In addition to his parents, Merv is survived by his wife and soulmate of 19 years, Ruth (Martin). He is also survived by his daughter, Kayleigh Walters (Keith) of St. Thomas; son Matthew Melius; son, Andrew (Aimee) Melius; daughter Kiley Melius; grandchildren , Caleb Bracken and Reagan Melius, all of Chambersburg; a brother, Tom Freshman of Columbus, OH. Merv is also survived by his step-daughters, Aimee Workman and Nicole Workman-Reyes. Merv’s life was enhanced by his Gift of Life donor and aunt Patti Carbaugh. Merv was preceded in death by his daughter, Alison.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. A fellowship and celebration of Merv’s life will be held for friends and family on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at the Fayetteville Fire Company Social Hall, 101 W Main St., Fayetteville, PA 17222.
