Michael Wayne Deavers, 54, of Willow Hill, PA, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, September 8, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Born December 13, 1959 in Frederick, MD, he was a son of Harold and Nancy Hammond Deavers. Michael was a graduate of the Walkersville High School and was employed as a mechanic with Midas and Meineke. He served with the National Guard and had a strong devotion to his church and faith. Michael especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved German Shepherds, cars, and playing cards with his family. He was known to be a prankster.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Deavers; two daughters, Chelsey Deavers and her significant other Patrick Williams of Waterfall, PA and Jessica Deavers of Wrightsville, PA; six grandchildren; a sister, Michelle Baer and husband Kevin of Waynesboro; and a brother, Jason Deavers and wife Ginger of Waynesboro. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles “Bill” and Stella Hammond.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Freedom Worship Center with Pastor Kevin Wade officiating. Interment will be private.
