Michael Fittry

March 15, 1975 — January 3, 2024

Michael Andrew Fittry, age 48, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (PA) passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, surrounded by family. Born March 15, 1975, in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of Harold Eugene Fittry and Barbara (Murphy) Zullinger both of Chambersburg, PA.
He attended school locally at Corpus Christi Catholic School and Chambersburg Area Middle School, before moving to Germany and graduating from General H.H. Arnold Wiesbaden High School, in Wiesbaden, Germany. Michael was the fourth generation of his family to work at Letterkenny Army Depot, in Chambersburg, where he was a Patriot mechanic and progressed into well-respected Project Manager and leader. He worked for the Federal Government for almost 20 years.
Michael was an avid collector of all things sharp and weaponry, including knives, axes, and guns. During his short lifetime, he amassed an impressive collection. He also enjoyed working on vehicles and his keen logic allowed him to figure out how to fix just about anything. He was a member of the Rouzerville Hunting Club, Waynesboro, PA.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Donald and Charlotte (Leidig) Murphy and Harold O. and Betty (Shearer) Fittry. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his second mother, Lana Lemmond; two children, Hannah Montressa (Dylan) Bradley of Mercersburg, PA and Liam Michael Fittry of St. Thomas, PA; three grandchildren, Beau Cubeta, Kinsley Bradley, and Bennett Bradley; three siblings, older sister, Adrianne (Elden) Robison, twin sister, Megan (Michael) Handy and younger sister, Shannon (Charlie) Petersen; four nieces and nephews, Mason and Matthew Handy, Jayden Jacobs, and Jessica McHenry.

He will be interred in the columbarium at St. Paul UMC, Chambersburg, PA during a private ceremony. A Celebration of Life, for family and friends, will be scheduled at a future date. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.

Online condolences may be expressed at geiselfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to organizations focused on finding the cure for pancreatic cancer and supporting patients and families touched by the disease (e.g. Hirschberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, Lustgarten Foundation: Pancreatic Cancer Research).

Michael will be profoundly missed by his family and friends, but the legacy he leaves behind in his beautiful children and the memory of his quick wit and his willingness to help anyone will live on. Fly high, my brother, until we meet again!
