Michael Kaiser

May 9, 1936 — January 23, 2014

Michael P. Kaiser, age 77, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Luther Ridge Retirement Community. Born May 9, 1936, he was a son of the late Walter F. and Helen C. Kaiser. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church where he served as a team leader for RCIA and was a devout usher. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Michael earned an Associate’s Degree then went on to work as an electronic engineer for T.B. Woods, Inc., where he retired in 1999 after 25 years of service. Michael was an avid baseball player and fan. He once had tried out for the Brooklyn Dodgers Minor League team. He enjoyed electronics, tinkering, history, World War II history, growing tomatoes, and traveling. Michael was an avid reader and lifelong learner. He served as a volunteer firefighter and Battalion Chief in Ramsey, NJ. Michael was a very generous person to his charities as well as his family.

Michael is survived by four children, Dorothy Allison and husband Andrew of Philadelphia, PA, Michael Kaiser of Chambersburg, PA, Paul Kaiser of Greencastle, PA, and Stephen Kaiser and wife Laura of Chambersburg, PA; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Kaiser; and his brother, Walter Kaiser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday. January 28, 2014 at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Fr. James R. O’Brien will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202 on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will follow the Mass on Tuesday in Corpus Christi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Luther Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17202 or to CFCA (Unbound), 1 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103.
