Michael E. "Mike" Jackson, 59, of Chambersburg, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on September 26, 1962 in Bellaire, Ohio, Mike was the only child of Carol Sidon Jackson of Sherman, Illinois and the late Edward L. Jackson. Mike grew up in St. Clairsville, Ohio and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering degree from the University of Akron. Mike then completed an executive management program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Currently employed as Senior Vice President of Business Development with Global Data Corporation, Mike previously had served as past Chief Operating Officer at e-LYNXX Corporation in Chambersburg. Prior to moving to Chambersburg in 2007, Mike served as a Vice President with Convergys Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio and Dell, Inc. in Austin, Texas. Mike had a great love for music, which was passed down from his dad. The two of them spent countless hours playing the guitar together. He also enjoyed traveling, both for work and for pleasure, but while he had many other interests, Mike was quite simply a "golf nut."
A devoted member of the Chambersburg Country Club, he served the club in numerous capacities, including Past President. It was the place where you could so often find Mike, whether he was working on getting out of a troublesome bunker, or testing how far left he could start his tee ball off of the the 13th tee box. All of us who knew Mike knew him to demonstrate a fierce love for the game of golf, and all that it embodies. He had a passion for the enhancement of the club's golf course and an energetic drive to bring new families and members into the club, a place where they would feel welcomed as friends. And though he invested so many hours into IT strategies for work and golf course improvement for the club, nothing was more important to him than the love he had for his daughter, Marlee, the true prize of Mike's life.
Aside from his mother, Mike is survived by his wife, Nikki Glass Jackson, whom he married in April of 2007; daughter, Marlee G. Jackson, and stepsons, Brayden and Tanner Hunt, all of Chambersburg. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, at the Chambersburg Country Club 3646 Scotland Road Chambersburg. A private interment will be held in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association (www.americanheart.org) or to a charity of one's choice. Mike's arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
