Michael Gene “Mike” Nunley, 39, of Chambersburg, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Born February 3, 1979 in Fort Sill, OK, he was the son of Janie Shew Nunley and the late Connie Max, “Mike” Nunley, whom preceded him in death on July 3, 2011.
Mike was a 1997 graduate of CASHS. He was employed as a forklift operator with Syncreon in Carlisle. Mike had a passion for fishing. He also enjoyed cooking, baseball and swimming. He was well known for his keen sense of humor, quick wit, infectious smile and gentle and patient spirit. He had a love for dogs and leaves behind his best friend Ghost. Mike was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Chambersburg. He served as a minister of God’s word where he was equipped with a gift to teach, preach, inspire and lead.
In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his wife Lisa A. Nunley; son, Neamiah Nunley; step-son, Dustin Kline; sister, Melinda Cooper and husband Ryan of Shippensburg and several nieces and nephews. Aside from his father, Mike was preceded in death by his niece, Angel Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Pastor Phyllis Martin will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
