Michel Bennett Sollenberger, 55, died athis residence on Sheffield Drive, Chambersburg, PA, at 5:35am, August 16, 2020. Michel was born on April 30, 1965 in Philadephia, PA. He is survived by his parents Harold and Lois (Delp) Sollenberger of Bushnell, FL; four brothers: Braxton Sollenberger of Elisabethtown, PA, Conrad Sollenberger of Shippensburg, PA, Philip Sollenberger of Chambersburg, PA, and Stephen Sollenberger of Chambersburg, PA; one sister Starla D. Goodwin of Chile, S.A., seven nieces, six nephews, four great nephews, and one great neice. He was preceded in death by one sister, Twila Freeman.
Michel loved people. He had many friends in many churches and groups in the different places where he lived. He loved picnics, gatherings, and church meetings. Michel loved to sing. His favorite songs were “Amazing Grace” and “It Is Well With My Soul.” Even though he faced many difficulties he succeeded in his work and life in many areas. He milked cows for many years, and he played in a hand bell choir. He was interested in basketball & baseball, and he collected a variety of memorabilia that were special to him.
A viewing service will be held from 6:00 – 8:00pm, August 18, 2020, at the Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg PA 17201.
Graveside service and burial will be at 10:00am, August 19, 2020, at the Mercersburg Mennonite Church, 10060 Buchanan Trail W, Mercersburg PA 17236.
