Mildred Catherine Horn Stayman

Mildred Catherine Horn Stayman, of Upper Strasburg, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 27, 2017. Born January 22, 1928, in Lemasters, PA, she was the daughter of the late David W. and Esther Phiel Pool.
Mrs. Stayman was a 1945 graduate of the former Lemaster’s High School. She was a homemaker most of her adult life. She was a member of the Air Hill BIC Church and the church needle guild. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidery, and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren.
Surviving are five children, Larry G. Horn (wife Jane) of Upper Strasburg, PA; Lavona K. Gutshall (Elwood) of Newville, PA; Valencia G. Humelsine (Skip) of Odenton, MD; Darlene J. Black (Galen) of Roxbury, PA; and Leonard L. Horn (Barb) of Horse Valley, PA, five step-children, Joanne Hock (Wayne); Richard Stayman (Colleen); Robert Stayman (Virginia); Betty Alleman (Ray); and Ronald Stayman (Lisa), 13 grandchildren,; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 siblings, Betty Lou Booze (Larry) of Chambersburg, PA; Donald Pool (Pat) of Ft. McCord, PA, and Gerald Pool (Jane) Greencastle, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford L. Horn in 1989 and her second husband, Wilbur Stayman in 1999.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017, at 11 AM at the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 7041 Cumberland Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Chuck Naylor will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Spiritrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
