Mildred Gorham

Mildred T. Gorham, 92, of Shippensburg, PA, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Menno Haven. Born October 2, 1920 in Williamsport, PA, she was a daughter of the late Chester A. and Della M. Williamson Bobst. She was employed with the Chambersburg Area School District for 11 years, retiring as Head Cook at Grandview Elementary School. Mrs. Gorham was a member of Salem United Brethren Church, Martha Custis Chapter Order of Eastern Star #342, Falling Spring Court #139 Order of Amaranth, Samaria Shrine #43, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, AARP Chapter 2840, Franklin County Farm Women Group 7, and the Chambersburg Women’s Club. Her husband, Edwin E. Gorham, whom she married July 6, 1943, preceded her in death on January 31, 2003.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail A. Kriner and husband Thomas of Shippensburg; her son, Lee E. Gorham and wife Glenda of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Kevin Kriner and companion Heather Price, Jenny Whitfield, Penny Gorham, and Ben Gorham; and eight great-grandchildren, Laurin Paul and husband Brandon, Erik Kriner, Cody Whitfield, Bryce Whitfield, Cade Whitfield, Mason Kriner, Ally Davis, and Paige Davis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Hilner and Margaret Minier.

An Eastern Star service will be conducted by members of Martha Custis Chapter #342 Order of Eastern Star at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2013 immediately followed by the funeral service in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Ron Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
